Frequently asked questions
By default, a GDPR configuration is created upon sign-up. However, if you want to use a different legal framework (e.g., CCPA, VCDPA etc.) or support multiple frameworks, you can do so by following these steps:
- Select Settings in the main menu.
- On the Settings page, find the Account ID field.
- Enter either a Cookiebot Domain Group ID or a Usercentrics Configuration ID.
- Click the Connect account button.

When using a Ruleset ID, please ensure you select
Compliance with multiple privacy laws (geolocation) in
Your current account setup.
Yes, this is possible however, if you attempt to log in via the “Get Started” button, you will not be able to connect an existing banner. Instead do the following:
- Select Settings in the WordPress plugin menu.
- On the Settings page, find the Account ID field.
- Enter either a Cookiebot Domain Group ID or a Usercentrics Configuration ID.
- Click Connect account (please ensure you've entered a valid ID to properly display the banner).
- If you use a Ruleset ID, please ensure you select Compliance with multiple privacy laws (geolocation) under Your Current Account Setup.
- Log in to the Usercentrics Admin Interface with your credentials.
- Click the user icon in the upper right and select the Account & Billing option.
- On the Account & Billing screen, navigate to the Subscription section, here you can find the number of sessions under Usage.
Please note
If you have multiple configurations, the session count includes all configurations, not just WordPress.
You may find this setting under Settings, on the Additional Settings tab.
If the toggle is already enabled, but the banner is still not surfacing, please contact support.
If a scan failed without any apparent cause, you can manually initiate a new scan as follows:
- Log in to the Usercentrics Admin Interface.
- On the Companies overview page, select the company that includes your WordPress domain.
- Click on your company and select your GDPR configuration.
- In the left-hand menu, select Service Settings.
- Click the Start Scan button to initiate a new scan.
If the scan repeatedly fails due to an invalid domain:
- Select Configuration in the left-hand menu.
- Check whether the domain is listed correctly.
- Remove the incorrect domain and add a correct one.
Please note
Making changes to the account can only be done by the account owner.

To upgrade your Usercentrics
CMP account you need to
login at
account.usercentrics.eu.
After you've logged in you will be presented with the accounts overview screen. - Click the user icon in the upper right and select the Account & Billing option.
- On the Account & Billing screen, navigate to the Subscription section and click the Manage subscription button.
- Choose your desired plan and click Continue to Payment.
- Enter billing details and click Buy Now.
- Log in to the Usercentrics Admin Interface with your credentials.
- In Companies overview, select the company that includes your WordPress domain.
- Select your GDPR configuration.

In the left-hand menu, select Appearance.
- On the Layout tab you can adjust the layout of the first layer, second layer, and privacy trigger.
- On the Styling tab you can customize your banner design to match your brand.
- You can use the Preview button to see your changes in realtime.
- Log in to the Usercentrics Admin Interface with your credentials.
- Select the company with the domain you want to scan or see the scan results for.
- Select your GDPR configuration.

Select Service Settings from the left-hand menu.
Here you can review all data processing services that were detected during the scan of your website. - To initiate a new scan, click the Start Scan button.
Usercentrics CMP offers a free
plan for eligible accounts.*
However, all subscriptions start as a free 14-day trial in order to showcase
all available features, including Premium features like banner customization.
After 14 days, the banner reverts to the default settings, and a session limit of 1,000 monthly session applies.
